What is a Trunk Show?

“A trunk show is an event which vendors present merchandise directly to store personnel or customers at a retail location or another venue such as a hotel room.  In many cases it allows store personnel to preview and/or purchase merchandise before it is made available to the public”.

What to expect at a Love Bridal Trunk Show:
Some trunk shows are attended by either the designer or someone from the design team, but most often, the designer sends their collection of beautiful wedding dresses for brides to try for the duration of the days event.  We book appointments in advance for brides to ensure they get the full time required to try the new styles whilst they are here (usually about an hour and 15). Gowns are only here for the days event and the designer allows up to 10% off their dresses for that day.  Wedding dresses that are showcased here for events are unseen dresses and yet to be seen in stores around the UK until the following season.

Tester events are slightly different.  Designers or their team members always attend and are actively involved in the appointments.  They ‘test’ dresses out that are yet to make the cut for the future collections and they work with brides in deciding which dresses do make the cut.  It’s a great opportunity to see, try and buy dresses long before they hit stores around Europe (usually 2 seasons before).  Brides are heavily involved in helping dresses to market and their feedback as to what works and doesn’t work with the new gowns.
